Hotel El Castillo

Located in the province of Alajuela, near the majestic Arenal Volcano, Hotel El Castillo is a Mediterranean-style boutique hotel. This is a family owned and operated adult only hotel. It is located near Ventanas beach and Tortuga beach and set high above the Pacific ocean in Ojochal. This hotel overlooks amazing views of mountains and ocean. The surrounding area is renowned for its active volcano, Pinuela Beach, grand lake Arenal and Arco Beach and wonderful wind surfing conditions. In the surrounding area you will also find some shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

Rooms:

El Castillo offers 6 well appointed rooms set within a rich green setting. All the rooms are clean, with tile floors, large windows, private hot water bathrooms, upgraded bedding, robes, air conditioning, coffeemaker, refrigerator and safe.

Ocean View Suite:

It is a spacious 570 feet suite overlooking amazing mountain view as well as stunning ocean view. There is a large bathroom and also a separate sitting room furnished with sofa bed. In its sleeping chamber, there is a private veranda where you can enjoy some tranquil time and enjoy watching the amazing ocean view.

Ocean View Rooms:

Ocean View rooms are located in the main building. Through its French doors onto a veranda you can enjoy amazing view of the ocean.

Garden Room:

Hotel El Castillo also provide a garden room that is nestled beside the main building in the lower level of the building. If you want to enjoy more privacy, you can stay at this room. From this room you can enjoy a partial ocean view through the south garden.

Restaurant Azul:

In this restaurant you can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine and desserts which are homemade. You will also enjoy free breakfast that changes daily. In Lunch time this restaurant serves wraps, tacos, yucca fries and salads. You can enjoy your food in the salon, poolside or at the fun communal table that is perfect for a large group. While enjoying evening dining experience, you will also enjoy stunning sunset view. This restaurant serves starters including hummus served with homemade pita bread and calamari served with tartar sauce. In second course you will enjoy tomato basil or seafood soup and in entrees you will enjoy homemade pasta, souvlakis with addictive tzatziki sauce, Moroccan chicken, grilled fish and goat cheese ravioli. You can also take a platter of seafood including fish, calamari, mussels, shrimp and clams. In dessert you will get homemade ice cream and also cakes.

There are many options to enjoy adventure and fun activities. You can visit dramatic mountains to the back and famous Ballena National Park in the front and there you can enjoy a variety of activities. You can go for different types of day trip and enjoy exploring the amazing natural beauty of the surrounding area. You can enjoy exploring the Indian tribe of Baruca and experiencing the biodiversity of Corcovado National Park. You will experience great thrill while hiking along the continental divide or being dazzled by the Wilson Botanical Gardens. You can go for swimming in the wonderful waterfalls, horseback riding on the beach, ATV tour, kayaking or just can take rest by the pool.
