How to get there:

Travelling from San Jose: Driving from this city, take the Inter-American Highway north, after passing the Cuenca and Rio Aranjuez restaurant take a right turn onto the paved road where small town of Sardinal arrives. From this town, turn left towards the soccer field and another paved road emerges. Keeping going until the village of Guacimal comes. Take a right turn to Santa Elena at Guacimal village T intersection. Drive straight until you reach Monteverde, from here onwards you’ll see signboards of Fonda Vela and Monteverde Reserve. The most famous landmark after arrive in Monteverde is the Cheese Factory, past 1 km of this is the Hotel Fonda Vela.

P.S. It is recommended that in the area of Monteverde you travel in a 4×4 vehicle due to the bumpy and unpaved road.
