Freedive Costa Rica is the very first and only freediving school in Costa Rica. The dive center is located in Tamarindo, a vibrant tourist oriented town filled with adventurous opportunities found in the Province of Guanacaste.

Freedive Costa Rica 2 Freediving is a type of underwater diving that depends on diver’s ability to hold the breath underwater until resurfacing instead of using an air tank or a scuba gear. Freedive Costa Rica offers SSI internationally certified freediving courses, non-certified freediving introduction workshops, such as Discover Freediving, which are usually for those who are not yet ready for a certification course. Along with diving, vacationers can participate in daily yoga and meditation classes to rejuvenate their mind, body and spirit, surf the waves and go snorkeling. The Freediving School

They plan each lesson with great care and put all their effort in teaching SSI Freediving Courses from beginner to expert levels with a high degree of professionalism and dedication. The school features classrooms with multimedia, a swimming pool for practicing and relaxing and a fabulous boat that takes you around to the best dive spots.

Courses

Join Freedive Costa Rica and get to swim like a dolphin while discovering the wonders of the ocean. The school offers different types of courses that range from beginner to expert level. Minimum age requirement is 14 years for introductory workshops and Level 1 course. During the lessons, the equipment is provided by the school.

Discover Freediving

Freedive Costa Rica 3 It is one day long introductory workshops during which you will freedive for the first time and learn proper breathing and swimming techniques. The contents of the course are theory sessions, breathing and relaxation techniques, pool training and open water training. By the end of the day, students will be able to dive between the depths of 5m to 10m comfortably.

Freediving Level 1

It is a 2 day SSI certification course in which students will get to dive to the depths of 20m. The course includes proper training of the body, better breath control, developing good muscle flexibility and acquiring new skills.

Freediving Level 2

In this 3 day course, you will further improve your skills and learn advance techniques such as equalization techniques and apnea training methods. Once you have mastered the skills, you will be able to dive up to 30m easily. Minimum age requirement is 16 years.

Freediving Level 3

Level 3 is the most advanced level. To sign up for this course, you have to be at least 18 years old and be certified in SSI Level 2 and CPR. At the end of the course, you will be able to hold their breath for approximately 3:30 minutes, swim 75m and comfortably dive between 30m to 40m.
