Arco Iris Lodge

AIL’ start point can be located from the village of Santa Elena although it’s outside of the village but location map starts from this village. The distance is just about three and a half mile from Santa Elena Cloud Forest right to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. One of the advantages of Iris Lodge is that it’s located close to the banks, bus stops and supermarket which make it easy for any individual to shop for any grocery or financial work or even travel.

Transportation:

There are different modes of transportation that Arco Iris Lodge serves within Costa Rica to Monteverde or any other place:

By Taxi, a boat and taxi again: If you’re heading to Arco Iris Lodge the most convenient and fastest approach would be via a taxi then boat then a taxi again. Why? Travelling from La Fortuna a taxi departs which will head to the Lake Arenal from there onwards your journey is in this lake on a boat. Once the boat arrives at the dock, a taxi picks you up and you can then head to Arco Iris Lodge. You can travel from La Fortuna, Santa Elena or even Monteverde.

Private transport: Visitors can travel either in their own vehicle or avail the private transport facility which entails an air-conditioned minibus which travels throughout Costa Rica and gives you door to door pick up from/to Arco Iris Lodge.

Public Transport to Monteverde from San Jose and Puntarenas:

San Jose: A public bus departs from San Jose, the stop is named Monteverde-Tilaran. This ride from the Tilaran bus top right to Monteverde takes around 5 hours where the bus also makes a transit for 15 minutes at Sardinal and finally arrives to Monteverde.
Puntarenas: If you head from Puntarenas, you will have the option of two bus routes which lead to Monteverde and eventually in the surroundings of Arco Iris Lodge. If you take route 1 the bus embarks via Lagartos; option 2 travels via Las Juntas to Monteverde.
