From San Jose – Alajuela – San Ramon – La Tigra – Chachagua – La Fortuna

This journey takes 3 hours if you travel on your own by road. Departing from San Jose you will have to take the panamerican highway #1 to Alajuela and head straight 40 kilometers until you see the sign to San Ramon; before approaching to the sign you will pass the Airport too. Once entered San Ramon continue the drive until you see signs to San Lorenzo and La Tigra, you will witness many hotels on the way. Keep following the signs and head from La Tigra to Chachagua and finally entering into La Fortuna. Once at this city follow the sign to Arenal Volcano, from here follow signs leading straight to Arenal Nayara Hotel.

From San Jose – Grecia – Sarchi – Naranjo – Zarcero – Ciudad Quesada – Florencia – Tanque – La Fortuna

From Panamerican Highway #1 take north to Alajuela. Famous landmark will be the Airport on your way to Naranjo this is approximately 27 kilometers away. Take a right and drive straight to Naranjo, after passing through Naranjo follow signs leading to Zarcero and Ciudad Quesada. Now continue driving to signs Tanque and La Fortuna. After entering La Fortuna look for Arenal Nayara Hotel signs and it will reach you to this hotel. This journey is of 3 hours.

From San Jose- Alajuela- Poas Volcano- Varablanca- Cariblanco- San Miguel- Aguas Zarcas- Muelle- La Fortuna

Journey: 5 hours

Driving from  Panamerican Highway #1 north you will pass the Airport, after crossing the first signal take the exit to Alajuela which is across the Airport and head into Alajuela downtown. After the entry in this town the road is upward where your vehicle would climb the mountains – you will see the coffee plantations which will take you to Poas Volcano. However, on your way to Volcano look for the sign to Varablanca, from there turn right and drive straight ahead right to the sign of Cariblanco and San Miguel from here turn left. Follow sign to Aguas Zarcas, Muelle, Tangque and into La Fortuna. From there keep track of signs until you see Arenal Nayara Hotel.
