Hacienda Tayutic is an unpretentious and unassuming little Tayutic Valley gem, which offers guests a natural rural style experience and comfortable stay options. Housed within a verdant valley, all elements from the lodge’s rural structure to its mysterious looking gardens to its home-cooked food and intimate hospitality are geared towards offering visitors a homey, countryside feel that is sorely lacking in the plusher luxury retreats. Guests can enjoy a therapeutic treatment at the lodge’s well-appointed antique spa or introduce themselves to the region’s untainted natural landscape or go an exploratory trail of the countryside’s best-preserved antique secrets. This erstwhile country home has retained its simplicity, while indulging its guests with customized menus (with country gourmet cooking classes thrown in for good measure) and comfortable rooms. Its inspiring natural setting makes Hacienda Tayutic a popular choice with any traveler who is fascinated with the idea of living in the midst of pristine surroundings, outstanding countryside vistas and an almost mesmerizing natural energy.
Tours and Amenities
Hacienda Tayutic offers innumerable nature and adventure laced activities to keep the excitement alive. Activities range from heady canyon tours to guided botanical garden excursions to thrilling horseback riding trips (passing through lush tropical garden landscapes, mountains and valleys). Other popular Hacienda Tayutic tours are canopy rides (guests zip along treetops for vantage point aerial vistas of the jungle and surrounding topography), a tour of the region’s archeological attraction – the Guayabo’s National Monument and exciting kayaking expeditions on the River Pejibaye. There is a vivarium in the vicinity, where visitors can get up, close and personal with a huge selection of tropical flora, birds and freely fluttering butterflies in an almost magical looking setting. Additional guest activities include rafting on the Pacuare and Pejibare along with a quick visit to the nearby Serpentarium.
Though Hacienda Tayutic isn’t very high on in-house amenities, it boasts of some of decent facilities such as wireless internet connectivity, a local gourmet cuisine serving restaurant, laundry service, a reasonably large pool, a message service and a gift shop (where patrons can pick up fresh locally cultivated products and artifacts made by native artisans). A greenhouse fruit plantation and a spectacular gazebo arena (offering majestic views of the neighboring countryside landscape) complete the picture perfect setting.
Rooms
The accommodation at Haicenda Tayutic is a more causal and relaxed style Caribbean “hotel guest house” as they like to call it. Designed using rustic colonial architectural details, the plantation wooden homes offer an expansive, secluded and elegant appearance that is deeply rooted in the owner family’s impressive heritage, dating back as far as the XVII century. Though minimalism is the buzzword here, it doesn’t translate into reduced comforts for guests. The rooms are comfortably equipped with all amenities required for a pleasant, enjoyable stay.
Room Prices
High season lodging is priced at $ 325 USD per room per night and $ 2,300 USD for the entire lodge. All inclusive rates during the peak season are $ 385 USD for per room per night arrangement. The all inclusive package includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and daytime snacks.
