Playa Nicuesa’s striking beach and rainforest juxtaposed landscape offers scope for a huge array of activities. Visitors can discover acres of pristine forest at their own pace or swim in the near perfect waters of the adjoining beach or enjoy exciting kayaking sessions or even go deep sea snorkeling to spot the region’s majestic reef treasures. Off-shore and in-shore fishing along with an exploratory tour of the coastline/mangroves and simply taking in the views of Playa’s beautiful surrounding landscape are other sought after guest activities. The lodge features personalized family-friendly tours and a bunch of yoga/wellness packages. Playa Nicuesa has a rather interesting and unusual “Resident Yoga Instructor and Massage Therapist Program”, where the lodge host highly proficient and qualified yoga instructors and therapists every month to conduct daily classes and healing massage sessions ($ 15 USD for a group yoga session and $ 30 USD for a yoga session for individual, massage therapy sessions are priced at $ 75 USD per hour). This chic wellness retreat also conducts retreats and workshops throughout the year.

Guests can also enjoy a delicious tropical-Latino fusion inspired menu at Playa Nicuesa’s in-house restaurant or sip on an inventive tropical cocktail at the quaint and pretty thatched roof candle-lit bar at sunset.

Accommodation

Playa Nicuese Rainforest Lodge’s accommodation facilities come in the form of a single 2 storey Mango Guest House with 4 independent rooms, the single bedroom cabins, the large Cabin Suites, the Two Bedroom Cabins and a sprawling Jaguar House. Private Rooms at the Mango Guest House feature a private entrance, tastefully appointed hardwood floors, a private bathroom and an independent terrace proving scenic views of Playa’s natural surroundings. The arrangement is ideal for families and large groups, who can enjoy living together without sacrificing the privacy of their own space.

Single bedroom cabins are created to offer a minimalist yet natural jungle chic element to the accommodations. Each cabin features a private entrance, classy hardwood flooring, private open air shower bathrooms and an independent terrace. Cabin Suites are more ‘castaway’ and set aside from the main accommodation premises. The spacious Jaguar House is a 2 storey, 3 bedroom house surrounded by a breathtaking rainforest canopy.

Rates

High season price for the Mango Guest House rooms is $ 230 USD per person, while the price for a high season stay at the Private One Bedroom Cabin is $ 270 USD. The high season rates again for the Mango guest House, Private One Bedroom Cabin, Cabin Suite and Jaguar House are $ 195, $ 220 USD, $ 330 USD and $ 400 USD respectively. All prices mentioned are per person and are inclusive of a boat pick up and drop from the town, three meals, unlimited self-guided walks on Playa’s property and use of kayaks, snorkeling and fishing gear. Guided tours and customized specialty adventure activities come with an additional fee.
