By Car: From San Jose, head to the Caldera Highway west to Puntarenas. Take the ferry across the Gulf of Nicoya to the town of Paquera. From Paquera, drive about 20 miles to Cobano, follow signs until seven miles to Mal Pais and Santa Teresa.

By Plane: There are two air companies that fly from San Jose To Tambor. With flight from the international airport Juan Santa Maria. With flight from the airport of Pavas. (45 mins approx from the international airport Juan Santa Maria). When you arrive to Tambor airport you will have to pick a taxi to Canaima Chill House Hotel. One private transfer will pick you in the airport of San Jose and they will take you directly to Canaima Chill House Hotel.

By Bus: In the Terminal die bus de San Carlos, 400m al norte de la iglesia la Merced in San Jose you have to take the direct bus with destiny to Mal Pais – Santa Teresa. The bus brings you directly to Mal Pais – Santa Teresa. In Puntarenas however you have to leave the bus and walk on the ferry for the trip across the Gulf of Nicoya. They will give you 2 tickets, one for the ferry the other to take the bus again when you arrive to Paquera. You have to get off the bus at Brunelas in Playa Santa Teresa.
