Location
FROM SAN JOSÉ: Take the Panamerican Highway north. At 20 km you will pass the exit to Puntarenas you will then see station and a turn off for Sardinal and Monteverde, Santa Elena. Keep going on the paved road until you reach the town of “Guacimal”, from there on another 20 km of gravel road to Monteverde. This will last you between 3.5 to 4 hours.
FROM LIBERIA: Now take the Panamerican highway south. Take an exit when you get to the turnoff for Cañas take the road to Tilarán. Once there, cross the whole town (1km) find a sign for Monteverde. Keep going on the gravel road to Monteverde, about 45km. This will last you 3 hours.
FROM LA FORTUNA: Begin your journey from the road to Tilarán follow the exact route as from Liberia.
